As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads around the world, many companies have put in place new policies to allow their employees to work from home. But for those who have never had to work from home, this can be an adjustment. So here are 5 tips to help you succeed.

Get Started Early

One of the best ways to succeed when working from home is to dive into your work as soon as you wake up. This will limit procrastination and give you a head start when no one else is online.

Create a To-Do List

It can be easy to lose track of what needs to be done especially if you are working from home. Creating a weekly and daily to-do list will help you prioritize your work and help you avoid missing deadlines.

Set and Maintain a Regular Schedule

Having a schedule with clear guidelines for your working hours will allow you to maintain a work-life balance. You can use time tracking apps like Hubstaff to help you stick to your schedule.

Leave Your Home

The hardest part of working from home is feeling like you can’t leave your house. While going outside and socializing is limited during COVID -19 shelter in place order, but it’s not impossible. Instead of staying home during your lunch hour, go on a walk and enjoy the fresh air, this will allow you to physically and mentally separate from work.

Discover When You’re Most Productive

Everyone has a time when they are most productive. For example, some people are most focused and productive in the morning which allows them to get their job done in the first couple hours of the day. Figure out when you’re most productive and take advantage of it.

Bonus Tip

Schedule your team meetings when you’re least productive. If you’re most productive in the morning, schedule meetings in the afternoon and vice or versa but be flexible with your team members.
